About

I’ve been following politics ever since a current events class in high school in the 1970s. I’m a Democrat, a fairly liberal one, who disagrees with Grover Norquist’s belief that government should be small enough that it can be drowned in a bathtub. Having said that, I long for a functioning Republican party because I don’t believe that any single party has all the answers. Republicans and Democrats need to keep each other in balance. Unfortunately, ever since Ronald Reagan said “The 9 most terrifying words in the English are, ‘I’m from the government, and I’m here to help,’ ” Republicans have been more concerned with destroying government than making it work better and more efficiently.

Excellent site. I thought Norquest’s anti-governement orientation was kind of cool at first, but he has mutated into a real facist (maybe already was), controlling the brain-dead lemmings of the Repub Party like an apocalyptic guru. Maybe we can help him set fire to his compound.

Thanks for stopping by this blog. I’d just like to set a fire under the American people to get them outraged about this man’s influence on our government. The Ayn Randian philosophy that he and Paul Ryan and so many others believe in is too extreme. Time and time again, it is the government that people and businesses turn to when they need help. There is nothing wrong that. I also believe that government can tax too much and that government can be too intrusive. That is why I want at least two viable political parties, and even more would be better. Two strong parties are needed to balance out the extremes that we would reach if only one party had power.
